Part of the ‘Small Luxury Hotels of the World’, Quinta da Casa Branca is a truly exceptional Quinta
and one of the most luxurious on the island of Madeira. The estate’s origins date back to the mid-
19th century when the Leacock family, a renowned name in Madeira still to this day, planted vines
and bananas on the 16 acres of land on the estate. The original Manor House has been expertly
restored to retain its original look and feel with original pieces of art and furniture and now plays host
to suites and the elegant ‘The Dining Room’ restaurant. Quinta da Casa Branca is an amalgamation
of immaculately kept gardens, approximately 7 acres, contemporary design and old-world elegance.

Once the 18th century home of a Commander of the British Forces, Quinta Jardins do Lago
has been lovingly converted into one of Madeira’s premier Quintas. Whilst retaining its old-
world charm and elegance, this Quinta oozes warmth and sophistication and has an amazing
history to match. The Quinta is set amongst 6 acres of incredible botanical gardens that boast
a variety of over 500 plants and trees from around the world, some of which have been present
since the early 18th century. The gardens also play host to the Quinta’s longest serving resident,
‘Colombo’ the giant tortoise who has been roaming the estate for 47 years and loves to be
fed bananas by guests. The gardens here make the Quinta Jardins do Lago one of the most
sought after Quintas in Madeira and an ideal place to fully relax whilst immersed in nature.
